Indiana has been firing on all cylinders for weeks now and it only continued last week against UCLA when the Hoosiers had a 50-point win over the Bruins. It was more than jsut beating a team that was 3-4 on the season, it was the first win after Cignetti signed his enw contract to make sure he was sticking with the Hoosiers after all the coaching rumors.

Now, the Hoosiers head to Maryland to take on a Terrapins team that is 4-3 on the season, but has lost its last three in a row, including one to UCLA. However, Maryland is coming off a bye week, so they will be nice and rested before taking on a N0.2 Hoosiers team and the fans will be hoping to have a field storming for an upset win.

Indiana is hoping to be 9-0 for the second season in a row, but the Hoosiers will need to focus on taking down a Maryland team that can be sneaky good at times.

No. 2 Indiana vs. Maryland final prediction

With Indiana ranked No. 2 and 8-0 on the season, and Maryland one a three-game losing streak, it is no surprise that the Hoosiers are a big favorite in this game. Either both streaks will be broken today, or both will extend, and Indiana fans are hoping for the latter.

Quarterback Fernando Mendoza has really taken the lead in the Heisman Trophy race, so he needs to continue his stellar play today to help ensure a big win for the Hoosiers. Indiana's defense has been one of the best all season long, suffocating opposing offenses and really making things difficult for opposing quarterbacks.

Maryland quarterback Malik Washington has only 11 passing touchdowns but three rushing touchdowns. While he doesn't run the ball often, he can when need be, so the Hoosiers need to be ready to contain inside the pocket.

The final prediction is of course an Indiana win and Cignetti adding anther win to his Indiana record, making him 20-2 with the Hoosiers.
