The Indiana Hoosiers will face off with the Maryland Terrapins in College Park for a Big Ten matchup on Saturday, Novemeber 1st.

Indiana is 8-0 (5-0 Big Ten) entering their Week 10 matchup against Maryland
4-3 (1-3 Big Ten). Last Saturday in Week 9 ,the Hoosiers beat UCLA at home, in an impressive performance 56-6.

The Terrapins' last game was a 20–17 embarrissing road loss to the UCLA Bruins in Pasadena, California since then they've had a week off to prepare for their homecoming matchup against No. 2 Indiana.

Last week Indiana junior quarterback Fernando Mendoza threw for 168 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception on 15-of-22 passing (68.2%) for the Hoosiers in that matchup against the Bruins. Mendoza also had five carries for 45 yards and one rushing touchdown.

It will be a homecoming game for Indiana leading running back Roman Hemby, who rushed for 81 yards on 17 carries (4.8 yards per carry) and two touchdowns, Hemby also had one reception for 11 yards. Wide receiever E.J Williams was the leader outside the number. Williams had five receptions for 109 yards (21.8 per catch) and two touchdowns against UCLA.

True freshman quarterback Malik Washington's performance for the Terps against the Bruins included 23-of-48 passing for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He rushed six times for 67 yards in their loss on the road. DeJuan Williams carried the ball 14 times for 47 yards (3.4 yards per attempt). In the passing game, he added seven catches for 86 yards. WR, Shaleak Knotts caught three passes for 54 yards (18.0 yards per catch).

In coach Mike Locksley's seventh season, Maryland has lost three straight games against Washington, Nebraska and UCLA. It's safe to say Locklsey is on the hot seat. After the coaching purge that has already taken place his next three games are so important to his tenure at Maryland if he survives that long. If there's a brightside for those losses, it would be that Maryland lost the three games by a combined 10 points.

In those losses t worst was when Maryland blew a 20-3 lead in the fourth quarter at home against Washington, then followed it up by another fourth-quarter lead at home against Nebraska.

Maryland fans have said this is their bounce back and get right game but that's a helluva major task against No. 2 Indiana, who's defense is top ten in the country while also holding one of the more balanced attacks on offense led by Heisman Trophy front-runner Fernando Mendoza.

"Indiana’s road to the Big Ten championship game contains neither stop signs nor speed limits. The No. 2-but-still-getting-no-respect Hoosiers (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) flattened UCLA 56-6 Saturday. Indy crushed the number as 27-point favorites. No reason to let up on the road against the uninspiring Terps (4-2, 1-3 Big Ten). Especially with the first CFB Playoff poll due out on Tuesday. Indiana’s offense ranks 3rd in scoring among all FBS teams with 45.4 points. The Terps defense should challenge early, but it won’t be able to keep pace in the second half." - Bill Bender of Sporting News stated this week

Indiana football game prediction:

Indiana rolls over Maryland and covers the 21.5 spread that has been laid out. I would take Indiana all they way up to 24 or 25 points honestly, Cignetti is going to "run it up" against the Terps. Indiana's offense controls the ball game and puts up another 50 piece lemon pepper extra wet on Maryland.

Indiana 50, Maryland 20
