NC State transfer safety Devan Boykin commits to Indiana football

Boykin played all four seasons at NC State before his knee injury in 2024

Indiana has added another transfer in the 2025 portal window, now adding Devan Boykin who is transferring from North Carolina State.

The senior safety Devan Boykin signed with Indiana, as first reported Tuesday afternoon byOn3's Pete Nakos.

The 5-foot-10 and 195-pound Boykin started for the NCST Wolfpack for three season but missed the entire 2024 season due to a knee injury.

The Greensboro (NC) native has played in 45 games spanning from 2020 to 2023. Boykin has 117 career tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, 11 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in his career.

Boykin ranked high among safeties with at least 450 snaps in 2023, Boykin was 112th in Pro Football Focus' defense grade (71.3), fourth in run defense grade (90.5) 24th in tackling grade (86.1) and 121st in pass rush grade (65.8) and 199th in coverage grade (62.5).

Boykin will provide depth and experience at the safety position for the Hoosiers. in 2025, as IU looks to replace Terry Jones Jr., Cedarius Doss, Shawn Asbury II and Joshua Sanguinetti.

Boykin a senior has one season of eligibility remaining.
