Grace Berger, who played at Indiana from 2018-23, was waived by the Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday according to the Lynx social media page

Grace Berger originally signed with Minnesota Lynx back on Feb. 7th after playing with the Indiana Fever.

Berger was WNBA 2nd All-Rookie Team member in 2023 for the Fever, but her role decreased in 2024 with the selection of No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark. During her two-years in Indianapolis, Grace Berger played 13.3 minutes per game, averaging 4.2 points and 1.9 assists per game in 47 appearances.

This past offseason, Berger played for OGM Ormanspor in the Turkish Women’s Basketball League, where she is averaged 13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals, while shooting 44.7% from the field and 30.6% from three in 27 total games.

At Indiana in Bloomington, Berger was a four-time All-Big Ten first team player, Berger scored 1,841 career points, had 573 assists and 752 rebounds in her five years at IU. She left Indiana as the all-time winningest player in Indiana WBB history.

"Her ability to get to her spots, I think is uncanny. I watched it in college and though, 'Well, is she going to be able to do that in our league?' The answer is yes," Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve told the Indy Star on May 3rd. "... She's actually expanded her game as well. ... Expanding your game to the 3 and adding more value in that space, she's also expanded that value by playing more than one position."

Berger was the second former Indiana women’s basketball star to get waived, with Mackenzie Holmed getting waived earlier this week by the Seattle Storm.

Berger 25, still has hope to play in the WNBA and stick around the leauge for as long as possible. With her ability to play the point and shoot from behind the arc, Berger should get another chance to showcase her skills in the "W" sooner than later hopefully.
