Mike Woodson and Dusty May could not be in more different positions than what they are right now. Woodson is retiring at the end of the season, and it feels like if he didn't he would have been fired, while May in his first season at Michigan has led the Wolverines to the AP Top 25 rankings and towards the top of the Big Ten.

Tomorrow, Indiana will take on Michigan in Bloomington, the first time Indiana will play in Assembly Hall since the Woodson news broke of his departure. It is hard not to look at both sidelines and just see a tale of two coaches.

Dusty May, in a sense, feels like a new and upcoming coach who did amazing things at FAU, leading them to the Final Four in 2023. While Woodson is on the backend of his coaching career and will be done at the end of the season.

With Indiana beginning their search for their new head coach in the coming weeks, it seems like May is a name on the list, it certainly is for the fans. Before the news broke about Woodson leaving at the end of the season, there was speculation as to whether a "Fire Woodson" chant or "Hire Dusty" chant would break out first in the students section.

May would not be a bad hire for the Hoosiers. He brings a smaller resume than some coaches that Indiana may be looking at, but he brings a winning culture with him. May spent six seasons with the FAU Owls, not having a single season below .500 and even leading the low-seeded Owls to the Final Four in 2023, shocking the world. He finished with a 126-69 record at FAU and since joining Michigan, currently holds a 17-5 record with the Wolverines.

There are probably a lot of coaches on the list for Indiana to go after once the season is over, but until then, the fanbase just needs to wait out the rest of the Woodson era for the rest of the season. However, the Hoosiers could be watching their next head coach on the opposing team's bench this weekend.
