Is Indiana the favorite to land Five Star Point Guard Mikel Brown Jr

Five-star point guard Mikel Brown Jr. had his official visit with Mike Woodson and the Indiana basketball program last month which was first reported by 247Sports.

Brown is ranked No. 7 in the country the 2025 class, the No. 2 point guard and 3rd best player in the state of Florida rated by 247Sports. Brown Jr and is one of several major 2025 prospects that Indiana is pursuing, Brown also has offers from Kentucky, Ole Miss, UCF, Alabama and Texas but do the Hoosiers have the inside track on the top ten prospect?

On3 Sports RPM (Recruiting Prediction Machine) has Brown Jr staying home heading to UCF, not far behind is Alabama, Ole Miss and Kentucky. If the Hoosiers can land Eric Reibe, Bryson Tiller and Bryalon Mullins or at least one of them that could help move IU land Brown Jr in the long run but currently they are on the outside looking in.

The a 6-foot-3 point guard from DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida also attended Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Georgia previously before returning to his home-state of Florida.

Brown averaged 10.3 points, 5.2 assists and 3.3 rebounds while playing 25 minutes per game and shot 42.3% from the field on the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team this summer.
