The Hoosiers struggled to find consistency in a road loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 66-56.

With the loss, the Hoosiers fell to 15-9 overall and 7-5 in Big Ten conference play. The Golden Gophers (19-6, 7-6 Big Ten) led by two points at halftime but that was the closes IU could keep the game. Minnesota went on a 7-0 run in the 3rd quarter to pull away and truly never looked back.

Junior guard Shay Ciezki and senior transfer Karoline Striplin both led the Indiana Hoosiers with 12 points total versus Minnesota. The Hoosiers also were also helped by graduate student guard Chloe Moore-McNeil, she had 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Junior Yarden Garzon, Indiana’s leading scorer on the season struggled on Sunday, shooting just 2 for 9 for six points. Indiana is the No. 1 team in the Big Ten in three-point shooting but they all struggled as a whole. Indiana went 7-for-22 from behind the arc in their loss. This loss snaps a three game winning streak for the Hoosiers.

Minnesota's junior point guard Amaya Battle had a game-high 16 points, including eight in the fourth quarter.

On Friday, ESPN’s Charlie Creme updated his new bracket for the women's basketball tournament and Teri Moren's Indiana Hoosiers were among the last eight teams in the field, projected as a 9 seed. With this loss to Minnesota we will see where Indiana comes in the newly updated ranking projections for this week.

Indiana will have three days off until they travel on the road to face off with the Michigan Wolverines at 7 p.m. Wednesday inside the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The game will stream on Big Ten+.
