The Indiana Hoosiers women’s basketball couldn't quite pull off their second upset of the week as they fell short to the No. 22 Michigan State Spartans in a 73-65 loss.
Indiana dropped their third-straight road game of the season, in East Lansing at the Breslin Center.
The Spartans improved to 20-7 overall and 10-6 in Big Ten games.
No. 22 Michigan State Spartans were led in scoring by junior forward Grace VanSlooten who led all scorers from both sides with 17 total points while grad senior guard Chloe Moore-McNeil led the Hoosiers with 15 points. Karoline Striplin had 14 points, while Shay Ciezki and Yarden Garzon both had 13.
Junior guard Theryn Hallock and senior guard Jaddan Simmons both scored 16 points for the Spartans.
Our keys to the game earlier today were the Hoosiers to shoot the 3 ball well, limit turnovers and win on the fast break points and they did neither of these things. Indiana shot 6-of-22 from three (27.3%) and had 18 turnovers, the Spartans also scored 24 points off the IU turnovers, IU only scored 13 off MSU's.
The Hoosiers (17-10, 9-7) will have four days off before their final home game this season against the No. 21 Maryland Terrapins (21-6, 12-4) on Thursday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The "senior day" matchup will stream on Peacock at 7 p.m.
