The Indiana Hoosiers officially have their opponent for their first game in the 2025 College Football Playoff. After a 34-24 win over Oklahoma, Alabama has punched its ticket to the Rose Bowl with the Hoosiers, and it should be an electrifying matchup.

In the first 12-team College Football Playoff in 2024, every 1-seed that received the first-round bye fell in their first game in the Quarterfinals. Indiana is hoping to change that trend, but it certainly won't be easy. The Tide proved that even though they got down early against the Sooners, they could mount a comeback.

This won't be an easy game for the Hoosiers, especially with so much time having not played; they may need to knock off some rust. However, Vegas oddsmakers seem to have faith in the Hoosies as they have given them a favorable opening line against the Crimson Tide.

This betting line certainly will make Indiana fans happy and have them thinking about the Hoosiers being in the semifinals and one step closer to winning a National Championship.

Indiana can not overlook Alabama, as their defense certainly was able to shut down John Mateer in Norman. However, Oklahoma's offense is nothing like Indiana's offense, led by Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza.

The Indiana defense is something to think about, as the Hoosiers have been practically unstoppable on defense this season. Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson certainly will be a tough QB to play against, but the Hoosiers have been able to take down some big quarterbacks this season.
