Indiana Transfer WR, Tyler Morris out for the season with non-contact knee injury

Incoming transfer wide receiver Tyler Morris, suffered a non-contact knee injury that will require surgery. Morris will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season which was announced by Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti yesterday.

“We’ve stayed relatively healthy, with the exception of (wide receiver) Tyler Morris, who had a non-contact knee injury and will require surgery and will miss a season,” Cignetti said.

Tyler Morris entered the portal back on Dec. 3rd from Michigan and transferred to Indiana about a month later. In 2024 Morris played in 11 games for the Wolverines and caught 23 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns.

In three seasons at Michigan, Morris appeared in 34 games with 12 starts. He had 39 receptions for 470 yards and three touchdowns. He also started on special teams as a punt returner recording 14 punts for an average of nine yards per return and a long of 30 yards.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Morris was a four-star recruit out of Bolingbrook (IL). The former Illinois native was the No. 115 player in the 2022 247Sports Composite, and the No. 15 wide receiver in his class. The COVID-19 pandemic wiped out his junior year, while an ACL injury caused him to miss most of his senior year and even some of his freshman season at Michigan

Elijah Sarratt, Omar Cooper Jr. and E.J. Williams will be the top WR on the Hoosiers roster along with App State transfer Makai Jackson.

Morris has two season of eligibility remaining because his additional redshirt year coming now in 2025.
