Four-star defensive back Matt Sieg will announce his commitment on Dec. 3, Signing Day, live on the CBS Sports College Football Youtube Channel.

Sieg final list includes: Indiana, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Penn State and Pittsburgh.

Sieg is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound four-star athlete from Fort Cherry in McDonald, PA committed to Penn State last November, and while he's still committed, he re-opened his recruitment following the firing of Franklin.

Sieg wrote on his personal social media page that he was still interested in Penn State even after the James Franklin firing.

“I love Penn State and am still open to being a Lion,” said Sieg, “but with the uncertainty of the current situation, my family and I are trying to make sure we make the best decision for the future. Please respect our decision.”

“At this time, I am still committed to current staff at Penn State,” he told Fawcett. “However, due to the recent changes and uncertainty, I have decided to re-open my recruitment.”

Sieg is the No. 179 overall ranked player in the class of 2026, he is also the 16th ranked safety in the class and the fifth best player in the state of Pennsylvania according to 247Sports Composite

Sieg also held offers from Akron, Alabama, Buffalo, Cal, Iowa, Michigan State, Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pitt, SMU, Rutgers, Stanford, Syracuse, Temple, USC, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Indiana currently has two safety commits in their national top-30 2026 class three-stars Jamar Owens and recent Colorado flip D’Montae Tims.
