Indiana set to host international guard known for his 3-point shooting

Even during the regular season, Mike Woodson is still keeping his mind on recruiting for the future.

Indiana basketball is in the thick of its basketball season, but that isn't stopping head coach Mike Woodson from thinking about returning for the team of the future.

The Hoosiers have historically been good at recruiting within the state, but they are starting to turn their eyes toward international players. Right now, Indiana only has one international player on their roster, and that is sixth-year senior Oumar Ballo from Koulikoro, Mali.

Now, the Hoosiers have Bosnian guard Harun Zrno coming in for an official visit this week, as reported by On3's Joe Tipton. Zrno will be on campus for Indiana's home matchup against USC on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Indiana is not the only school Zrno is planning to visit while in the States. He also has an official visit set up with Big Ten rival Wisconsin, but is also receiving interest from other schools such as Rutgers, Virginia, Kansas State, Gonzaga, and Georgia Tech.

The 6-foot06 guard out of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Europe has played in the Bosnian Division I league, averaging 20 points per game, but more impressively shooting 48% from beyond the arc, while also reeling in 4.1 boards per game and helping out his team with 4.0 assists per game.

Since the 2021-2022 season, Zrno has played in 62 games across different European professional leagues, so he clearly has the playing experience and could be a valuable addition to the Hoosiers going forward.

Currently, India ranked 12th in 3-point shooting percentage in the Big Ten, with the team shooting just 32.5% from beyond the arc. The addition of a top sharpshooter like Zrno could help improve that percentage for the Hoosiers in the coming years.
