The Indiana Hoosiers (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) remained at the No. 2 spot in both the AP and Coaches Polls after their 55-10 win at Maryland on Saturday. On Sunday, Indiana football received 11 first-place votes in the AP Poll, the same number as last week and still sit behind the defending champs the Ohio State Buckeyes.
This is the third straight week Indiana is ranked No. 2 in the AP Poll, and its fourth consecutive week in the top five.
The top seven in the AP Poll all remained the same as the fore mentioned Ohio State Buckeyes stay at the top spot followed by No. 2 Indiana, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia, No. 6 Oregon, and No. 7 Ole Miss.
Other Big Ten teams ranked in the AP Poll are No. 21 Michigan and No. 24 Washington. Iowa remains unranked by the AP, though it sits atop the “others receiving votes” list; but the Hawkeyes entered the Coaches Poll at No. 24.
The Hoosiers return to action at noon Saturday against Penn State (3-5, 0-5 Big Ten) at Beaver Stadium in Happy Valley. Penn State still has the talent to compete against to tier talent so Indiana shouldn't take this game likely, style points matter for the College Football Playoffs.
According to many expert projections Indiana is also expected to be ranked No. 2 in tonights College Football Playoff ranking.
