Indiana Hoosiers senior quarterback Kurtis Rourke will start against Michigan State on Saturday, according to Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti.
Rourke, who suffered a thumb injury against Nebraska, had surgery and screws put in early two weeks ago.
Rourke missed the second half of Indiana’s 56-7 win over Nebraska and the entire game against Washington last week. He has played at a Heisman candidate level for the Hoosiers this year. In seven games he has thrown for 1,941 yards and 15 touchdowns to just three interceptions.
""Kurtis Rourke will start and play the game," Cignetti said during his radio show Thursday. "He has taken more reps every day. He built on Tuesday (in practice), he took every rep on Wednesday and every rep (Thursday). Every day he looks sharper and sharper and sharper.""Curt Cignetti
Rourke a sixth year senior transferred to Indiana this past offseason after spending five years at Ohio, where he was named both the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year for the 2022 season.
