The Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team will start the 2025-26 season unranked in the AP Poll.

The Associated Press released its first top 25 basketball poll this week and Indiana is unranked, only receiving one vote in the preseason rankings.

Purdue is No. 1 with 35 first-place votes, followed by Houston, defending national champion Florida, 2023 and 2024 champ Connecticut, St. John’s and Duke.

Six Big Ten teams made the top 25: No. 1 Purdue, No. 7 Michigan, No. 12 UCLA, No. 17 Illinois, No. 22 Michigan State and No. 24 Wisconsin. Along with Indiana, five others received votes in Oregon (98), Ohio State (23), USC (10), Washington (7) and Iowa (6). The Indiana Hoosiers received the 12th-most votes in the Big Ten placing them 12 out of 18 overall in the conference.

The Hoosiers, who enter their first season under head coach Darian DeVries bring in 13 new scholarship players for the 2025-26 season.

Indiana is rankedNo. 40 nationally in the preseason KenPom rankings for the 2025-26 season.This includes being ranked No. 35 offensively and No. 41 defensively.

Indiana play two exhibition games and they begin when the Hoosiers go against Marian University at 7 p.m. Friday inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The Hoosiers will also travel to take on Baylor University on Oct. 26 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team will play their first regular season game of the 2025-2026 season against Alabama A&M on November 5th at home inside of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana.
