Indiana men’s basketball guard Myles Rice is the latest Hoosier to enter transfer portal

After transferring in from Washington State in 2024, Myles Rice has entered the transfer portal again after only one lone season at Indiana according to reports on Wednesday.

Redhsirt sophomore guard Myles Rice and his agency, PNW Sports Group,told the Field of 68 Wednesday that he would officially be entering the transfer portal after his only season at Indiana. Rice averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game in 2024-25. He also shot 41.2% from the field and 32.5% from 3-point range.

Rice started the Hoosiers’ first 24 games of the 2024-25 and was named a team captain by Mike Woodson in the start of the year. Rice is now the fifth Hoosiers player to enter the portal, joining Gabe Cupps, Malik Reneau, Mackenzie Mgbako and Jakai Newton.

Rice arrived in Bloomington with high expectations this year and was one of the most underwhelming players on the team as he struggled with consistency all year. Rice was Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and a named to the All-Pac-12 First Team in 2023-24. He was also ranked as the No. 10 point guard in last season’s transfer class, according to On3. 

The Tyrone, Georgia native will have two more years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
