Leo Curtis, a 7’1 215 pound center announced the offer on his personal social media account that he has been offered by the Indiana Hoosiers basketball program.
Playing professionally in Iceland this year, he averaged 15.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks while shooting 42.2% from three on 3.3 attempts per game.
Curtis has also reported offers from Stanford, Xavier, UMass, Creighton, Alabama, Arizona State, UCF, and West Virginia and Arizona State
Curtis recently spoke to Phenom Hoops and said the following about his game: “I’d say I’m a versatile player, can shoot, dribble, finish, and pass. I move pretty well and have a good feel for the game. I try to make the best reads each time, whether it is shooting threes, rolling, cutting, driving, or passing to an open teammate. I think I can have an inside and outside presence, rebound, block shots, and make plays for my teammates to help the team win.”
Curtis is from Iceland and plays at CATS Academy in Braintree (MA) he was recently asked how the transition was from Iceland to the States was by Pro Insight: Pro Insight: How has the move to Boston been for you thus far?
Leo Curtis: So I got to the states a month-and-a-half ago and the move has been pretty good. It's a different game than in Europe, and I think I'm adjusting pretty well. Also moving away from home is a little bit different, but it's been pretty good.
Leo Curtis is a late bloomer prospect, he's already 19 years old and will be 20 at the start of the 2025 season next year wherever he lands. Curtis does have tons of upside even at an older age than most of his class and he reminds me of Zach Collins of the San Antonio Spurs, formerly of the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
Curtis is very active on the boards, as he can come away with plenty of rebounds in games. Also, he has good length, athletic ability, and timing, as this can allow him to block plenty shots inside the paint. He weaknesses are fouls, his slender frame and his abilty to score consistently in the post. IU would love to land Curtis and would be an instant impact player on the Hoosiers in the near future.
