Former UAB running back Lee Beebe Jr. has transferred to Indiana according to On3 Sports.
It was reported by Pete Thamel of ESPN on Thursday that the star running back would enter the portal and he has now found a home a week later in Bloomington, Indiana with Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2024, the 5-foot-10 and 220-pounder rushed 166 times for 884 yards and seven touchdowns, he also added 30 catches for 219 yards and led the team with 1,103 all-purpose yards.
In 2023, Beebe had 52 carries for 360 yards and four touchdowns with 6.9 yards per carry.
According to PFF, 648 of Beebe’s yards came after contact, and he forced 39 missed tackles on the season. His total yards after contact ranked No. 42 across all of FBS. He fumbled three times and dropped five passes on 42 targets.
Beebe was an unranked prospect coming out of Park Crossing High School in Montgomery, Alabama and originally signed with the Blazers as a walk-on.
Indiana will lose leading rushers Justice Ellison who had 811 yards (5.5 yards per carry) and 10 touchdowns and Ty Son Lawton who totaled 634 yards (4.8 yards) and 12 touchdowns as they are both set to graduate.
Kaelon Black as the only returning running back with experience as Elijah Green entered the transfer portal as of this week.
Beebee will have two years of eligibility remaining at Indiana.
