Indiana is hiring a Georgia player personnel analyst as an assistant director of player personnel, a source tells CBS Sports.

The Indiana Hoosiers have added former Georgia Bulldog, Sales Pinckney to their staff in Bloomington as assistant director of player personnel as first reported by CBS and 247Sports' Matt Zentiz

Prior to joining the Indiana staff weeks before the season, Pickney also worked at UTEP and Austin Peay.

A former Division III defensive lineman at Rhodes (D-III - TN) who played high school football in Savannah, Georgia, was player personnel analyst at Georgia.

He worked under Will Myers who is widely regarded across college football for his skills identifying and evaluating talent for Georgia. The Bulldogs have had a top five class in each of the years Pickney and Myers have been apart of the program (2022-2025)

Pinckney should have instant success with Indiana through the transfer portal and the high school recruiting classes. Cignetti currently has the No. 29 recruiting class for 2026 per 247Sports

The Georgia Bulldogs are set to kickoff their 2025 college football season against Marshall next Saturday at 3:30pm E.T.

The Hoosiers were 11-2 last season and earned a spot in the College Football Playoffs for the first time.

Indiana will return four all-Big Ten players from last season. The Hoosiers also landed top talent in the transfer portal, including California quarterback Fernando Mendoza, Maryland running back Roman Hemby and three interior offensive linemen including Pat Coogan of Notre Dame.

The Indiana Hoosiers open the season against Old Dominion at home, the game will be broadcast at 2:30 p.m. ET on FS1. IU will follow that by hosting Kennesaw State, Indiana State and then a massive top-25 matchup versus Illinois. All four games will be a home in Bloomington.
