Indiana Has Their Senior Night Spoiled by No. 19 Maryland, takes on Purdue next

No. 19 Maryland women's basketball defeated the Indiana Hoosiers 74-60, on Thursday at Assembly Hall. The Terps improved to 22-6 overall and 12-5 in Big Ten play and the Hoosiers fell to (17-11, 9-8 Big Ten).

The Terrapin's leading scorer was Shyanne Sellers as she scored 21 of her 25 points in the fourth quarter to help Maryland women’s basketball pull away and beat Indiana.

Sellers made three 3-pointers, shot 5 of 7 overall and knocked down all eight of her free-throw attempts in the final quarter, while the Hoosiers only scored 21 points as a team in the fourth.

Junior guard Kaylene Smikle was second in scoring, she had 16 points to go along with six rebounds.

Christina Dalce also tallied 11 points and eight rebounds, the Hoosiers had a tough time stopping the balance of Maryland, eight players on their roster touched the floor and all scored agaisnt Indiana.

Yarden Garzon had 18 points and 5 rebounds, Karoline Striplin logged in 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists while senior grad transfer Sydney Parrish had 13 points and 4 rebounds.

The Hoosiers shot 41.8% from the field and just 34.8% from beyond the arc for 3 in the Thursday night loss.

Indiana women's basketball has their regular season finale against the Purdue Boilermakers, which tips-off at 2 p.m. Sunday against Purdue at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette. The matchup will stream on Peacock.
