For the first time in Indiana Hoosiers football history they will have pre-season hype and be a likely pick to make the College Football Playoffs in 2025. After the Hoosiers historic 2024 season under Curt Cignetti, IU went 11-2 making the college football playoffs.

It was the best season in Hoosiers football history in Cignetti's first season and there only two losses came to Notre Dame and Ohio State, both teams will play each other in the national championship game in Atlanta, Georgia on Jan 20th.

Although it's a bit, honestly way too early to be talking about rankings for football in 2025 it's the new world we live in with digital media so it's really never too early. We have the trasnfer portal closing, NFL Draft declares and the 2025 recruiting class all to consider but Indiana will be a force to be reckon with regardless.

One of the first way too early top 25 rankings comes from Bleacher Report, who rank the the Indiana Hoosiers at No. 24 overall.

California quarterback Fernando Mendoza will replace Kurtis Rourke at quarterback for the Hoosiers try and replicate this season's success. IU also brings back Aiden Fisher, Amare Ferrell and Mikal Kamara on defense.

IU also added key transfers in running backs Lee Bebee Jr and Roman Hemby, wide receiverTyler Morris and offensive lineman Khalil Benson.

The portal re-opens in mid-April for a 10-day period coming out of spring practice.
