LaVar Keys a elite standout from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland has committed to the Indiana Hoosiers football program, the former Penn State commit backed off his pledge to the Nittany Lions after head coach James Franklin was fired just last month.
“Indiana is the best fit,” Keys told Rivals. “I love the culture, love how they are winning, and Bloomington is a great place. The fans bring so much intensity.
“Coach Cignetti has turned things around and made them a new Indiana. He is great with energy. Coach Cignetti has brought juice to the program.”

The three-star recruit is ranked as the 849th-best recruit, per 247 Sports, the 116th-best receiver and the and the No. 20 ranked prospect in the state of Maryland.
Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti offered Keys back in January of 2024 and hosted the Maryland native on an official visit last June. Keys was in Bloomington for the Hoosiers’ dominant 56-6 win over UCLA last month.
When the Hoosiers traveled to Maryland on Nov. 1st, Keys, a Maryland native, visited the Terrapins. Indiana also took care of business in that game, defeating the Terrapins by 45 points on the road.
