If there is something that Indiana fans will always love to see, it is Indiana taking down their rival Purdue, especially on the basketball court. It was made a little bit sweeter with National Championship head coach Curt Cignetti in Assembly Hall for the big game.

The Hoosiers were able to upset No. 12 Purdue in Assembly Hall on Tuesday night to hand the Boilermakers their third straight loss. After a four-game losing streak, Indiana has been able to get back-to-back wins, and this ranked win over Purdue could fuel the rest of the season for the Hoosiers.

Purdue head coach Matt Painter certainly didn't seem happy with his team after the game, and he let the media know it in his postgame press conference.

"It’s frustrating, to be frank with you, because we have too good of a team," Painter said.

Painter was not happy with his team's effort against the Hoosiers, but it was after his big rant that he finally gave Indiana some credit for the way that they played. Indiana won the turnover battle 10-8 and had more steals, so clearly the defense was there.

The Hoosiers also shot significantly better than Purdue from the free-throw line. Indiand was 14-for-19 from the line while Purdue was just 8-for-15. Indiana simply was the better team today, and if Painter is going to talk so much about how great a team Purdue is, then they need to show it.

It even sounded like Painter was calling out his guys for not giving a full 40 minutes of maximum effort, which may not go over too well in the locker room. Ultimately, Indiana fans can sit back and watch the dumpster fire that is Purdue at the moment and be happy they were able to add fuel to the flame with their upset win.
