The Indiana Hoosiers have just won what is probably the biggest game in program history as they took down the Oregon Ducks in Autzen Stadium 30-20. In a true Big Ten sludge fest, Indiana and Oregon proved that this was the perfect game for College GameDay to visit this weekend.
The Hoosiers came into this game 1-72 against AP Top 5 opponents, but now they can add a win to make it 2-71, and hopefully that number will only go up from here. Head coach Curt Cignetti came into this game with the same mentality he does every game: to go out and just simply play physical football.
Quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who has been so amazing for the Hoosiers this season, had a few miscues, but when it mattered most, he helped put the team in his back adn carried them to victory. It would come as no surprise if Mendoza is suddenly the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy after this week.
Of course, fans are ecstatic over this win and went straight to social media to show it.
Indiana fans are bursting with pride on social media after Indiana's huge win vs. No. 3 Oregon.

Plain and simply. Put some respect on this team, or they will make you regret it.
I truly don’t have a college football team

The Indiana Hoosiers winning is the happiest I’ve ever been for a team I’m not a fan of
This is a team that is truly so easy to cheer for. A school that has always been known as a basketball school and is now excelling in football as well.

I think this person needed a few more exclamation points in this post to really get his point across.
Indiana walked into Autzen and punched the Ducks right in the face

Credit to the Hoosiers they have a very well coached and tough team. That defense is for real.
This defense looks so different from last season. Last year, Indiana had the offense to get them into the College Football Playoff, but now the offense is even better, and the defense is there to play true complementary football.
The Indiana Hoosiers are legitimately a national championship contender in football. What a time to be alive. Cignetti may be the best coach in college football.

This is the 1st top-5 road win in Hoosier history. As the team celebrated, fans yelled “Hoosier Daddy” to departing Oregon fans.#oregonducks | #indianahoosiers | @OregonDucks_SI pic.twitter.com/BPFGlxf6BM
This is probably the biggest win these players have had up to this point in their football careers. Seems like a fitting celebration with the level of win.
Hard to envision a scenario where Indiana doesn't finish 12-0 now. The toughest game left was at Penn St, which is a total mess and now lost their QB for the year. Lock the Hoosiers into the playoff.

At this point, as one of the few undefeated teams left in the country, Indiana has a serious chance to not only make the playoff, but also be in the Big Ten Championship. Only Ohio State and Indiana are undefeated overall in the Big Ten, while Michigan and USC, who are currently playing each other, are the only others undefeated in the conference. At this point, a total downfall would keep the Hoosiers out of the College Football Playoff.
Curt Cignetti is to Indiana football what Bob Knight was to IU basketball starting in the 1970’s - unbeatable and legendary. #Hoosiers

Indiana is proving that last year wasn't just luck, but that this is going to be the standard for the Hoosiers' football program going forward. This is quite possibly the biggest win the Indiana football program has ever had, and looking at the rest of the schedule, it is hard to find a loss.
