As the Gen Z kids say Indiana put "belt to ass" against in-state rival Purdue on Saturday night on NBC as the Hoosiers defeated the Boilermakers 56-3 in one of the most complete games IU has played all season.

The Indiana Hoosiers improved to 12-0 after their lopsided win at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana. With the win Indiana completes their first and only 12-0 season since 1945.

Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers have officially clinched a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis next week with the victory. Indiana will take on either No. 1 Ohio State, No. 6 Oregon, or No. 15 Michigan next weekend.

Another lock outside of the Big Ten Championship appearance is Fernando Mendzoa locking down a trip to New York City as a 2025 Heisman Finalist.

Mendoza didn't have to do to much yesterday and only played two and a half quarters but he still put up modest numbers on rivalry week. Mendoza threw for 117 yards, 2 touchdowns throwing for 8 of 15 passing. Fernando Mendoza also ran twice for 27 yards and added a touchdown on the ground.

“It’s a great night for Indiana, for our fan base, our alums, our loyal supporters, everybody that cares about Indiana,” Cignetti said postgame. “This is something that a lot of people probably thought couldn’t happen, and it just goes to show that when you have a commitment and a plan, and you have the right people in place, anything is possible.”

Curt Cignetti is completing one of the biggest turnarounds in college football history, they have gone 23-2 in his first two seasons and have beaten their in-state rival 122-3 over two games back to back seasons.

Can Indiana move from the No. 2 spot in the AP top 25 or College Football Playoff rankings to No. 1? Only if top-ranked Ohio State loses on Saturday against Michigan, something they have done the last four straight years.

The 15th annual title game will be played on Saturday, December 6, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will feature the top two teams in the standings. The contest will be televised nationally on FOX, with Compass Media Networks providing national radio coverage. The winner will earn the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and an automatic berth into the College Football Playoff.
