Breneman recently re-signed a partnership with daily fantasy sports operator PrizePicks, to create original content for the brand and promote their app.
Hoosiers state of mind: How did you end up partnering with PrizePicks this year?
Breneman: PrizePicks approached me after seeing my social media content, and the partnership was a natural fit. I was already connecting with fans around sports betting and daily fantasy, and their platform aligned perfectly with what I was doing. I love how easy PrizePicks is to use, especially for football fans. Since then, we’ve built on the partnership, creating daily content like the 'Breneman Special' segments, which have really taken off. It’s been incredible working with one of the best brands in sports to deliver content that resonates with fans.
Breneman is also a co-founder at college sports media and production brandThe College Sports Company, where is he brings his content expertise to schools across the country.
Hoosiers state of mind: What do you make of the NIL era in college athletics?
Breneman: NIL has revolutionized college sports, and I believe it's a positive change. It finally gives athletes the chance to benefit from their own brand—something that should have been possible long ago. That said, it has introduced new challenges, such as navigating compliance and preserving team dynamics. However, the overarching benefit is that athletes now have the ability to take control of their careers in ways we couldn’t have imagined just a few years ago. I'm fully in favor of it. "College football has never been in a better spot," he added. "Viewership has never been higher - as much as people like to complain about NIL - it's a great time to be in college football.
Part three of our interview is upcoming, stay tuned with us at Hoosiers State of Mind.
