Hoosiers State of Mind are honored and privileged to have sat down with Yahoo and CBS Sports college football analyst Adam Breneman in a exclusive three part interview to talk al things football.

Adam Breneman played at Penn State from 2013-15, earning a freshman All-American honors in 2013, due to injuries he transferred from Penn State he heading to UMass in 2016-2017. With the Minutemen, he led the country in receptions by a tight end both years and earned All-American selections in both of those seasons as well.

Breneman retired from football due to knee injuries at the age of 22 and decided to enter coaching and media in his post football career.

"“I’ve always felt I had a unique position in media and college football because of my background,” Breneman said. “As a 5-star recruit and All-American at two schools, I went through the NFL Draft process and became the youngest position coach in Power 5 football. The transition to media felt natural because I understood both the on-field and off-field aspects of the game."

Hoosiers state of mind: How did you get into the sports media world after your playing career was finished?

Breneman: After my playing career ended due to injuries, I wanted to stay connected to the game. I transitioned into coaching, then naturally shifted into sports media. I saw a gap in authentic, candid conversations about football and the business behind it, and I wanted to fill that void. I started creating content that resonated with football fans and athletes alike, and things took off from there. My unique experience—being a 5-star recruit, an All-American at two different schools, a D1 coach, and now a TV broadcaster—has given me the credibility to connect with my audience and build something special.

What are Breneman's thoughts on the leader of the Hoosiers quarterback Kurt Rourke ? He named him third inhis "Dudes of the week" rankings and the third best signal caller in the Big Ten Conference behind Penn State's Drew Allar and Oregon's Dillion Gabriel.

Rourke leads a Hoosiers offense that ranks top ten in the country and No.1 in the Big Ten.

Hoosiers state of mind: Who are your favorite to win the BIG TEN this season?

Breneman: Ohio State, they have an extremely talented roster – arguably the best in the country top to bottom. Penn State also has a strong case to take it this year, with their depth on both sides of the ball and how well-coached they are under James Franklin. While there are some quarterback question marks for Ohio State, their talent across the board keeps them as a top contender. Michigan still has the talent to be a dark horse as well, so it’ll be exciting to watch the rest of season unfold.

Stay tuned for part two and three of our interview and Q&A session with the great Adam Breneman.
