Will the Michigan Wolverines go with graduate senior and former Indiana quarterback Jack Tuttle as their starter behind center going forward the rest of the year?

Jack Tuttle is currently a seventh-year quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines who previously played at Utah and Indiana before heading to Ann Arbor in 2023.

Tuttle is from San Marcos, California and was a former four-star recruit and the No. 8 ranked pro-style quarterback in the 2018 recruiting class, per his 247Sports Composite ranking profile. He originally committed and enrolled at Utah in 2018 but transferred to Indiana after not seeing any playing time that year.

In Tuttle's four seasons at Indiana from 2019 through 2022, he appeared in a combined 15 games for the Hoosiers total where he was mainly a backup to Michael Penix Jr.

Michigan and their offense has struggled this season, currently on their third quarterback after benching Davis Warren and Alex Oriji after the first six weeks of action.

Tuttle was brought in appeared against Washington Saturday night with 10-for-18 passing, 98 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the second half.

Following the game, head coach Sherrone Moore backed Tuttle to be the Michigan starting quarterback moving forward, praising him for how he played in the second half and the chance he gives Michigan to succeed moving forward.

“I think we’ll see,” Sherrone Moore said. “We’ll watch the film. Feel good about the way he played. Feel good about what he did. So, right now, if we had to play tomorrow, I’d say Tuttle would be the starting quarterback.

I feel like Tuttle gives Michigan a great chance in their next few games to win now that he is healthy after a should injury in fall camp. Tuttle has a ton of reps at the position as mentioned above and the best arm talent on the team. The Wolverines would likely have to win out to be in the playoff discussion but I could see them winning 8 or 9 games by seasons end with Tuttle at the helm.

Michigan has a bye week and then take on Illinios in a big time road game on October 19th.
