Mgbako, a former 5-star prospect who spent the last two years at Indiana, entered the transfer portal taking his talents to College Station, Texas to play for Texas A&M.
A 2023 McDonald’s All-American, Mgbako was the Big Ten freshman of the year in the 2023-24 season for the Hoosiers.
As a freshman Mgbako he averaged 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 27.1 minutes of action.
As a sophomore at Indiana this past season, the 6-foot-9 forward averaged 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25.1 minutes per game.
In 65 total career games at Indiana the rising junior averaged 12.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
Mgbako has until May 28 to opt out of the NBA draft process, and while there is the potential for him to leave, he is projected as mid second round pick in the 40-50 range. Most expect him to stay committed to Texas A&M for at least the 2025-26 season, to reach a first round grade next year.
Mgbako has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
