Five-Star Floor General Taylen Kinney includes Indiana Hoosiers in top 12

According to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports, Kinney has included Indiana in his top 12 school finalist.

Kinney also listed Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas, Kansas, Purdue, Oregon, Tennessee, Miami, Xavier and Texas.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound five-star floor general is originally from Newport, Kentucky, he averaged 19.8 points per game, 5.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in 2024 for Overtime Elite according to Sports Passports

For the Wildcat Select (AAU team) he averaged 19.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists during the spring. He shot 54.4% overall, and 24.1% from three point range.

Kinney is rated the No. 14 player nationally, the No. 1prospect from the state of Georgia and the No. 4 point guard in the 2026 class by the 247Sports Composite.

The Kentucky native has already had visits to Purdue, Kentucky and Louisville this summer.

Kinney has scheduled an Indiana official visit for August 29-31, as first reported by Peegs and 247Sports.com

Kinney also has an official visit scheduled for Oregon the weekend of September 6th and Texas Sept. 12-14, other visits include Kansas and Arkansas. You can find his full visit schedulehere.

In a previous interview with Rivals, Kinney discussed several of the schools recruiting him, including Indiana.

 “Coach Rod (Clark) was recruiting me at Tennessee.  That’s my guy. So, you know, I wanna give him a chance too, see what it’s like down there.”

Kinney says he plans to make his college decision before his final high school season begins at Overtime Elite, so sometime this fall after he completes his visits.

What are the factors that will impact his final decision?

“A great relationship with the coaching staff and a school that I can fit in,” Kinney said.  “Just a team that fits my style of play. I’m going to have the ball in my hands and a great opportunity to get to the league.”
