The Indiana Hoosiers have made history up to this point in the 2025 football season, and they plan to make more with a win over Oregon in the Semifinals of the College Football Playoff. The Hoosiers were the only team with a first-round bye to win and move on, and now they can be the first 1-seed to make it to the National Championship in the 12-team playoff era.

The Hoosiers will take on the Oregon Ducks, a team they have already faced and beaten before this season. In the game in Eugene, Indiana proved they were a team not to be messed with when the Hoosiers took down the Ducks for a statement win, and at the time, the biggest win in program history.

Now, these teams face off with much bigger stakes, and Indiana has to do something that isn't easy to do: beat a team twice in one season.

Oregon vs. Indiana final predictions in the College Football Playoff Semifinals

While some still want to call it luck, many would say that Indiana has proven they are real and a team that won't settle for anything less than a National Championship win. However, this won't be an easy game for the Hoosiers, as this isn't the same Oregon team from the regular season.

The Ducks' offense has looked unstoppable during their College Football Playoff run, so Indiana will need their defense to be as good as it has been all season in order to slow them down. Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza will also have to put a lot of pressure on the Ducks with both his arm and legs.

He should be pretty fresh, not having to play in most of the fourth quarter against Alabama because of the lead he helped build against the Crimson Tide. This could be Indiana's closest game yet this season, but the Hoosiers have Curt Cignetti on their side, and at some point, people are going to learn to stop betting against him.
