According to On3Sports, former Virginia forward Edessa Noyan made an official visit to Indiana on Monday afternoon.

The Botkyrka, Sweden native has averaged 4.2 points and 3.7 rebounds, in 13.7 minutes per game during her two seasons with the Virginia Cavaliers.

The 6-foot-3 Noyan, was named to the Swedish Junior Naional team roster for the 2023 Nordic Championships and the U-20 European Championships. There Noyan averaged 18.8 points for the Swedish U-18 team in the 2022 Nordic Championships.

Noyan is the second European player added to the roster this off-season by Teri Moren and Indiana. The Hoosiers added former Arkansas guard, sophomore Phoenix Stotijn who is from the Netherlands.

"Edessa is one of the best forwards in the '23 class in Europe and she proved that by leading Sweden to win the Nordic Championship this past summer as their leading scorer and rebounder," assistant coach Arthur Moreira said.

With the losses of Sydney Parrish, Karoline Striplin, Lilly Meister and Sharnecce Currie-Jenks, Indiana women's basketball needs depth up front at the forward and center positions.

Indiana just landed UCLA transfer Zania Socka-Nguemen who is a former 2024 McDonald’s All-American. The Maryland native averaged 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 5.1 minutes per game last season.
