It is that time of year when the college basketball season is officially over, and the transfer portal is still going full force. Even though many teams finished their seasons weeks ago, players are still trying to find the perfect for their next landing spot.
For Indiana, the transfer portal was fast to take away and has been very slow on the return. With every player on the roster last year entering the transfer portal after the hiring of head coach Darian DeVries, the Hoosiers are now left with just three players, all three transfers that DeVries has brought in so far.
It seems as though DeVries is putting a lot of his attention on bringing in players from smaller programs such as Davidson adn Depaul like he did with Reed Bailey and Conor Enright, but there potentially could be a big fish on the hook for DeVries coming soon.
Texas Tech guard Kevin Overton, who played his freshman season at Drake under DeVries, has officially entered the transfer portal.
A new name to keep an eye on for Indiana is Texas Tech transfer guard Kevin Overton -- Overton played his freshman year at Drake and was teammates with Conor Enright and Tucker DeVries.

Former Drake and Texas Tech guard Kevin Overton enters the transfer portal
A lot of Indiana fans may be asking why they should care about a Texas Tech guard entering the transfer portal. Well, the reason this certain guard entering the portal is important is that before his only season with the Red Raiders, Overton spent a year with the Drake Bulldogs under DeVries, playing alongside Tucker DeVries and Enright.
After DeVries was hired on at West Virginia from Drake, Overton entered the portal adn chose the Red Raiders at Texas Tech. Now, after helping the team make it to the Elite Eight, losing to the eventual National Champion Florida Gators, Overton has chosen to play for his third school.
Could Overton want to reunite with his former coach, who recruited him and his former teammates in a different power conference? Overton could make the move to the Big Ten and join up with some familiar faces.
It only makes sense for Overton to want to reunite with the coach who once recruited him to college basketball. the 6-foot-5 sophomore averaged 7.8 points per game and 3.7 rebounds for the Red Raiders this season, as well as shot 42.2% from the floor and 33.1% from three-point range.
Overton would be a great addition to the Hoosiers, already having experience playing with over half of the roster so far. Can DeVries convince his former player to join Indiana?
