Indiana opened the 2025-26 season as the only program to bring in at least 10 transfers with 30-plus collegiate starts from last season. They have been unranked in every major poll and selected to finish in the middle of the pack in the Big Ten.

Led by veteran head coach Darian DeVries, the new Hoosier head coach enters his seventh season as an NCAA Division I head coach. Darian DeVries holds a career record of 169-68 and ranks sixth among active head coaches in Division I winning percentage with at least 100 wins from his time between coaching West Virginia and Drake.

Indiana out the gate started off hot with a win over SWAC opponent Alabama A&M, 98-51 on Wednesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

Davidson transfer and center Reed Bailey finished the game with a team high of 21 points in Indiana's blowout win, shooting 7-for-9 from the field and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.

Troy transfer Tayton Conerway scored 14 points on 6-for-7 shooting, also leading the game with five assists also adding two steals.

Five Hoosiers ended the game in double figures. Reed Bailey (21 points) led the way with Lamar Wilkerson (19 points), DeVries (18 points) and Sam Alexis (17 points) and Tayton Conerway (14 points).

"We have a really confident group. They’re very sure of themselves, and they know that they have the green light. They put in the time and the work, so on game night, let it rip."

“That’s kind of our philosophy. We don’t want them to hesitate even when they miss one. I don’t care where they take them from, just know that it’s something that you work on every day, and we’re good with it.”

Indiana was 10 of 24 (41.7%) from three point range while going a perfect 16 for 16 from the free throw line.

Indiana's offense was fast pace but under control the whole game versus Alabama A&M. The Hoosiers were able to control the game from the jump and also got a lot of minutes for the whole ten deep on the roster.

Indiana (1-0) will next travel to Chicago to face Marquette Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at the United Center.
