Curt Cignetti named AP Coach of the Year after leading Hoosiers to 11-1, CFP berth

Curt Cignetti of Indiana has been named The Associated Press Coach of the Year in college football

Indiana Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti was named AP college football coach of the year.

Cignetti was named The Associated Press Coach of the Year on Tuesday, collecting 30 of 45 votes from AP Top 25 voters. Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham finished second with eight votes, Oregon coach Dan Lanning received five and SMU coach Rhett Lashlee got two.

He was named the Hayes-Schembechler Big Ten Coach of the Year from the conference coaches and the Dave McClain Coach of the Year from the media that covers the Big Ten earlier this month.

Cignetti was also named Home Depot National Coach of the Year, Walter Camp Football Foundation National Coach of the Year and American Football Coaches Association National Coach of the Year.

The 11 victories in 2024 are the most in program history and mark the first double-digit win season in Hoosier history

Indiana has reached the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history and will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the CFP First Round next Friday in South Bend, Indiana on ABC/ESPN.
