Senior linebacker Aiden Fisher and Indiana's defensive helped guide the Hoosiers to a 30-20 win over then-No. 3 Oregon on Oct. 11 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.
Fisher had 13 total tackles against Oregon, he also recorded 1.5 sacks in the Hoosiers’ 10-point upset road victory.
“We’re primed for games like this,” Fisher said postgame. “This is why we play this game. It's why you come to Indiana. You want to play in top-ranked matchups. You want to win top-ranked matchups.”
In total, the Hoosiers’ linebackers led by Aiden Fisher, sophomore Rolijah Hardy and redshirt junior Isaiah Jones, had 34 total tackles, 3.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss against the Ducks.
Fisher becomes Indiana’s first Defensive Player of the Week selection since Jailin Walker earned the recognition from the Purdue game last season. He’s the third player to earn Big Ten Player of the Week honors, joining Offensive Players of the Week Omar Cooper Jr. versus (Indiana State) and versus Fernando Mendoza (Illinois).
On the season so far, Fisher leads Indiana with 39 total tackles, which is tied for 21st in the Big Ten. He also leads the Hoosiers with four quarterback hurries, and his five tackles for loss are tied for fourth on the team.
Aiden Fisher was also named the Chuck Bednarik and Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week.
