Top 2026 point guard Ashlinn James has committed to the Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball program, making James the first 2026 class signee.

Ashlinn James, a 5-foot-7 guard from Assumption High School in Louisville, Kentucky. James chose Indiana over Miami, Marquette, Louisville and many more.

James on her commitment to Indiana:

“It was just everything from the jump,” James told On3. “It just felt like family, from when I first got on campus and when I met the coaching staff. I got to take a loop around the campus, and we talked a whole bunch. They texted me and called me consistently. When I brought my family up, they were very welcoming and my family loved them.”

Indiana women's hoops are ranked No. 25 in the preseason Associated Press poll and begin the regular season on Nov. 4 when they host Brown.
