2025 three-star RB Indiana Hoosiers commit Sean Cuono will be the main recruiting puzzle for the 2025 class
Sean Cuono a three-star running back from Clearwater Central Catholic HS in Clearwater (FL) committed to the Indiana Hoosiers back in June and is the prize possession on offense for Curt Cignetti and IU's offense.
Cuono selected Indiana over Auburn, Boston College, Kansas State, South Carolina, USF, and West Virginia and Virginia among others.
The Florida native finished his junior season with with 145 carries for 1,024 yards (7.1 YPC) and 8 TD per MaxPreps. Also caught 12 passes for 128 yards and a TD at Calvary Christian High School.
As a sophomore, ran the ball 222 times for 1,786 yards (8.0 ypc) and 20 TD. Cuono hit the 100-yard mark rushing in 9 games. Also caught 17 passes for 256 yards and 7 TD.
Cuono is rated a 3-star prospect by 247Sports Composite but plays much better and fits Indiana and Mike Shanahan's offense perfectly. He is able to move in space, catch the ball out of the backfield and will be a threat blocking even at his size of 5'10 185.
The Hoosiers will look to replace Ty Son Lawton and Justice Ellison next season in the portal next season but Sean Cuono he will be a big factor in the 2024-25 season with juniors Kaelon Black and Elijah Green as the only returning running backs on the roster.
My scouting report on Cuono:
Strengths:
- Balanced runner that is tough to knock off course
- Three down back that can be plugged in any time
- Great vision upfield
Cuono displays outstanding short-area quickness, makes defenders miss and fits through the small openings of the defense. Runs with outstanding vision and instincts, keeps his feet moving and tries to get as much yardage from each carry as possible.
He is not a speedster and has trouble breaking away from defenders but he knows his roll and plays it well and will be similar to Ellison in this offense.
Indiana currently has the 40th ranked recruiting class for 2025 per 247Sports Composite
