Four-star safety Byron Baldwin committed to the Indiana Hoosiers program back in April and then backed off his pledge in early October, now he has fully re-committed to the Hoosiers just ahead of early National Signing Day next month according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The 6-foot-1 and 180-pound Baldwin is the top prospect in IU's 2025 recruiting class. The Maryland native is also the No. 188 overall prospect and No. 17 safety in the 2025 class, according to theOn3 Industry Ranking.

Baldwin is coming off a strong junior year at St. Frances, with 89 tackles, 4 pass breakups, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles, per 247Sports.

In his senior season this year, Baldwin has 79 tackles, 2 int's, 3 pass breakups. He also participates in track and field — mainly in triple jump, with a personal record of 40 feet last year — and he said that’s helped him improve his running and jumping ability on the football field.

Indiana has been there for me from the start,” Byron Baldwin told On3 after announcing his decision to rejoin the Hoosiers.

“Coach Cignetti runs a tight ship, and I’m all in for it,”Byron Baldwin said, emphasizing how the discipline aligns with his goals.“I’m heading to a program that means business, and I’m ready to bring my A-game.”

What makes coach Cignetti special is his system,” Baldwin said. “If you go through coach Cignetti’s resume, he’s won everywhere he’s been. First, he was a wide receivers coach for Nick Saban at Alabama. That was where he built his foundation. Then, he went to Elon, flipped Elon around and just came from James Madison. JMU has been winning consistently over the past couple of years. That is because of his formula.

Baldwin will sign with Indiana in December and enroll in January.
