Indiana native who plays his basketball at Greenfield-Central chose the UConn Huskies over the Indiana Hoosiers and North Carolina Tar Heels. Mullins made his announcement live on 247Sports at 6pm ET tonight.
As a junior at Greenfield-Central last season, Mullins led the program to a 24-1 record. He averaged 25 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.2 steals and shot 43 percent on 3 pointers.
"I think (Hurley) knows how to win and he knows how to coach you to win," Mullins told 247Sports National Basketball Analyst Travis Branham. "Whenever I talked to Coach Hurley I felt wanted and he said that he needed me. Their style of play fit me the best."
"He was just showing me a lot of what I was capable of doing in that offense," Mullins added about UConn's style of play. "He showed a lot of Cam Spencer highlights, a lot of off-ball, on-ball and ball-screen actions He brings a lot of defense to the table too. You got to play hard and you got to work hard and I wanted to be coached like that. He definitely pitched that to me and I liked the pitch."
Mullins brings elite size to the guard position at 6-foot-5 and is widely regarded as a strong shooter with excellent range. True to the Dan Hurley mindset, Mullins has high basketball IQ and plays well off the ball offensively. Defensively, Mullins is a solid perimeter defender and loves to disrupt passing lanes, averaging almost 1.5 steals per game.
Mullins is the No. 23 player in the nation, No. 5 shooting guard and No. 3 in the state of Indiana in the 2025 recruiting class per 247 Sports.
