3. Coach Woodson has to coach up this Indiana Basketball roster

Playing well on the road and being consistent for an entire season makes this Coach Woodson’s most daunting coaching job since rebuilding the Atlanta Hawks. There is a ton of talent on this team. Sophomore forward Malik Reneau is a top-30 recruit.

Freshman Mackenzie Mgbako is one of the most talented freshmen in Bloomington in a long time. Oregon transfer Kel’el Ware was a top-ten recruit, and sophomore forward Kaleb Banks is a top-100 recruit. They’ll be mixed in with some solid veterans, seniors Trey Galloway and Xavier Johnson.

If coach Woodson and his staff can get this group together in time, it would be his best coaching job at any level. This group needs to be consistent nightly in conference play to compete in the Big Ten. That’s not easy even for veteran teams, let alone a team of talented young pups.

The talent is there. Can coach Woodson and his staff get this team to grow up in time to make it to March?
