By Josh Yourish
No. 8 best Indiana basketball NBA career: Mike Woodson
- Drafted: 1980 No. 12 overall (first round)
- NBA games played: 786
- NBA PPG: 14.0
Coach Woodson is more known for spending time on the sidelines, in college and the NBA, but he was a very good player on the floor in his day. Woodson was All-Big Ten at Indiana and went on to play 13 seasons in the NBA.
Woodson was drafted by the Knicks in 1980 and by a few seasons into the league, he was the Kansas City Kings, his third team. He was a lethal bench scorer who averaged 18.2 points per game in 1982-83.
That was his career high in scoring, but even in 1987-88, he averaged 18.0 on the Clippers.
