Indiana basketball has never beaten the Loyola Greyhounds

  • Overall series record: 0-1
  • First matchup: December 22, 2009
  • Last matchup: December 22, 2009
  • Last Score: Loyola 72, Indiana 67

Like with Lipscomb, Loyola (MD) happened to catch the Hoosiers at the right time for what remains the only matchup between Hoosiers and Greyhounds to this point in history. It came in December 2009, when Tom Crean’s program was still rebuilding and recovering from Kelvin Sampson’s scandal.

Loyola came to Assembly Hall and left with a 72-67 victory, taking the Hoosiers to 5-6 on the season. Both teams shot well from outside the arc, but Brett Harvey’s excellent 25-point outing paced the Greyhounds in one of their best wins of the decade.
