Indiana basketball has never beaten the Clemson Tigers

  • Overall series record: 0-1
  • First matchup: December 29, 1980
  • Last matchup: December 29, 1980
  • Last Score: Clemson 58, Indiana 57

Throughout the history of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Indiana and Clemson were never matched up. Their lone matchup came over four decades ago in a neutral-site game, a game that might’ve gone a different way had it been played at a different time of that year.

In what’s essential been dubbed a precursor to the Maui Invitational, these two teams met up in late December 1980 in Honolulu, with Clemson pulling out a 1-point victory. This was Indiana’s first loss of the season against a non-ranked opponent, though they’d end up cutting down the nets some three months later.
