Indiana Basketball: Which teams have the Hoosiers never beaten?
By Joey Loose
Indiana basketball has never beaten the Miami Hurricanes
- Overall series record: 0-2
- First matchup: December 15, 2001
- Last matchup: March 19, 2023
- Last Score: Miami 85, Indiana 69
The ACC/Big Ten challenge was a great event for over two decades, though it tended to give us more marquee matchups for high-profile programs like Indiana. In fact, the Hoosiers have only played a pair of games against the Hurricanes, and one was just four months ago.
When these two teams played in 2001, Miami was still a member of the Big East, though the Hurricanes would finish second in the conference that season. In a mid-December matchup in southern Florida, Wake Forest had a poor offensive effort, falling 58-53 to the Hurricanes. Indiana would make the national championship game three and a half months later.
Few have forgotten the second matchup in this series, as 5-seed Miami scored the slight upset win over 4-seed Indiana in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Miami got 27 points from Isaiah Wong and limited Trayce Jackson-Davis in an 85-69 second-round win.
