Indiana basketball has never beaten the Wake Forest Demon Deacons

  • Overall series record: 0-3
  • First matchup: December 2, 2003
  • Last matchup: November 23, 2015
  • Last Score: Wake Forest 82, Indiana 78

Prior to the turn of the century, Indiana and Wake Forest had never faced off on the basketball court. Now, the Demon Deacons have become the foe that’s beaten the Hoosiers the most times without suffering a loss.

The first matchup with the Demon Deacons was back in December 2003 and came as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. It was a season where Wake Forest was definitely the better team and would come away with a 33-point blowout win in Winston-Salem.

The calendar favored this matchup just five years later, again on Wake Forest’s campus and with similar results. The #15 ranked Demon Deacons won an 83-58 decision during Tom Crean’s first year of his rebuild, as the Hoosiers would win just 6 games the whole season.

The most recent game between these two schools was a much different circumstance, as they met up in the first round of the 2015 Maui Invitational. In a year where the Demon Deacons would finish near the bottom of the ACC and Indiana would make the Sweet Sixteen, Wake Forest got 21 points from Devin Thomas and pulled out the win.
