Indiana basketball has never beaten the UTRGV Vaqueros

The lone matchup with these Vaqueros came quite long ago, back when the school was known as Texas-Pan American. A school from southern Texas wouldn’t necessarily find its place on Indiana’s schedule with regularity, though the circumstances of this game are pretty strange as well.

One day after Clemson beat Indiana, the Hoosiers fell to Pan American 66-60 in the final game in their tournament in Honolulu. This was one of the Hoosiers’ worst performances of the season, but one that would be ignored much later when they won the national championship precisely three months later.
