Indiana basketball: Jalen Hood-Schifino needs to show up in College Park
As Indiana basketball travels to College Park on Tuesday night, they need freshman standout, Jalen Hood-Schifino to show up in a big way to come home with a win.
In Hood-Schifino’s last game against Ohio State, he finally found his rhythm and recorded 24 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field and 6-for-9 from beyond the arc, adding in three rebounds and a steal while managing just one turnover.
In such a huge game for Indiana, Hood-Schifino showed up and his shot was falling. That hasn’t been the case for the last three games. Before his performance on Saturday, Hood-Schifino averaged just 6.0 points on 27.6 percent shooting from the field and 0-for-6 from three-point range.
One concern I have for Hood-Schifino is his road performances so far.
In his last three road games, the freshman guard is averaging just 9.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, and shooting just 31.6 percent from the field and 1-for-7 from three-point range. Along with that, Hood-Schifino is averaging 2.3 turnovers per game in those games, even though two of those turned out to be won by the Hoosiers.
Jalen Hood-Schifino Stat Line Prediction @ Maryland
36 MIN | 26 PTS | 4 REB | 5 AST | 7/11 FG | 3/5 3PT | 3/4 FT | 3 STL | 2 TOV
Can Hood-Schifino continue his hot shooting in College Park? Could we see a career-high performance on the road (his previous road-high was 21 @ Iowa)? Does JHS take some pressure off of Trayce Jackson-Davis?
