2022-23 stats: 21 GP, 29.8 MIN, 16.0 PPG, 5.0 REB, 3.3 AST, 42.1 FG%, 1.0 3PM, 26.2 3P%

Here’s the primary target for Coach Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers on Tuesday night.

The senior transfer from Charlotte returned home to Maryland after averaging 19.6 points in 31 games for the 49ers in his junior campaign. To say that this kid can score is an understatement. Last season he notched 18 20-point games, including a 30-point performance against Florida Atlantic on January 17, 2022.

This season, Young’s addition to the Terrapins roster seemed to go unnoticed by many college basketball analysts, but he’s making it known right now. Young already has six 20-point performances playing against much tougher competition and has overtaken all responsibilities as the primary ball-handler and scorer for Maryland.

Young poured in a game-high 18 points on 4-for-9 shooting and 1-for-3 from deep, adding three rebounds, seven assists, and six steals. Along with that, Young made all nine of his free throws and managed to record just two turnovers in 31 minutes.

If Young is hitting shots and controlling the offense, the Hoosiers will have a very difficult time taking down the Terrapins in the XFINITY Center on Tuesday night.
