No. 6 Indiana women’s basketball vs. No. 2 Ohio State: How to watch & predictions
No. 6 Indiana women’s basketball hosts the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday night in Assembly Hall at 8:30 PM EST on Big Ten Network.
The last time the Hoosiers faced off against the Buckeyes was December 12, 2021, a game where Mackenzie Holmes and Grace Berger combined for 51 points on 22-for-32 shooting and totaled 14 rebounds in an 86-66 win in Columbus.
Things look a lot different this year. The Hoosiers are off to their best start in program history at 18-1 overall and their lone loss coming against Michigan State in East Lansing. Ohio State is off to an incredible 19-1 start and holds its spot as the No. 2 team in the nation as of right now. The Buckeyes lost their first game of the season against No. 10 Iowa at home, 72-83 on Monday, January 23.
With three days of rest to recoup, the Buckeyes will be coming in ready to rock and roll. Teri Moren and Indiana women’s basketball need to be ready for a battle that will likely come down to a final possession.
The Buckeyes have been held to under 75 points just three times this year and the Hoosiers have held five of their last six opponents under 75 points. It will be a high-scoring affair and I believe that Mackenzie Holmes and company will be ready to fight.
Mackenzie Holmes ranks eighth in the country in scoring (21.9 PPG) and third in the country in field goal percentage (67.3 percent). Holmes has posted a double-double in six of her last seven games and has poured in 20+ points in 12 of her last 15 games played.
Since returning from injury, Grace Berger has made a huge impact on the floor for Teri Moren’s squad. Berger is averaging 13.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in her five games since returning back from her knee injury on January 5 and the Hoosiers are undefeated at 10-0 with Berger on the floor.

Final predictions
I believe that Mackenzie Holmes will put up huge numbers with a 30-point and 10-rebound performance in front of a huge Hoosier Nation “black out” crowd. Grace Berger will come up huge with at least 15 points and five assists and the Hoosiers will get a huge stop on the last possession to secure a top-five win on Thursday night.
